Wellington, this day. The following promotions have been made in the Customs Department :—E. Chilman, Landing Waiter at Wellington, to be Collector at Hokitika ; A. W. Pram, Landing Waiter at Wellington, has been shifted to Dunedin, where he will act in the same capacity ; E. R. C. Bowen, Landing Surveyor at Dunedin, to be Collector at Napier; R. Carter, Examining Officer at Napier, to bo Landing Surveyor at Dunedin ; A. McDowell, Landing Waiter at Chrietchurch, to be Collector at Greymouth ; A. Elliott, Landing Waiter at Nelson, to be Collector at Wanganui. ,
