COLOURED LABOURERS.

STRIKE IN QUEENSLAND.

WHITE PEOPLE ARMING.

Brisbane, this day. Over three hundred Javanese employed on the Goondi sugar plantation, near Geraldtown, have struck work, owing to a reduction having been made in their wages for time lost through wet weather.

The residents of Geraldtown are arming in case of emergency.

Warrants which were issued for the arrest of four men ou a charge of absconding from the service have not been served, owing to the fear that an attempt to arrest them would provoke a general riot.
