Now that the first-class yacht raco has been eliminated from tho programme, all the othor events coming under this class promise good ontriea and keen contests. Lost night tho Committee held a meeting. Througli tho kindnoas of tho New Zealand Shipping Company, the fine steamer Ruapohu, which is duo from London on Monday next, was placed at their disposal as flagship, and on this scoro success is assured. Tho resignations of Captain Parker and Mr It. H. Reynolds of their respective offices wero received, and Mr \V. C. Walker was olocted treasurer, and Captain Hodgson starter of the sailing races. It was agreed to tender for a band, programmes, and mark boats. Mr J. Endean wns heartily thanked by the Committee for donating a costly silver trophy of tho value of £25. It was decidod to give the trophy to tho largo cutter race, which will havo a cash prize of £20 added to it. Sovcral other trophies havo also been promised to the Committee, which will be announced in duo course. Mr Hodgson and Professor Carrollo will superintend the marking of the buoys. It was decided by the Committee to row all races under tho New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association rules. Entries for tho regatta closo on Tuesday night next with Mr C. C. Dacro, tho hardworking secretary, and tho wholo success of tho anniversary aquatic carnival now lies with thosowhosedutyitisto collecbeubscriptions.
