Cairo, January 18.
The British troops received the new Khedive on his arrival at Alexandria. Addressing the garrison, Abbas. Bey said that during his late visit to Europe he was much impressed with the evidence of English supremacy.
Paris, January IS.
The French Levantine squadron will shortly be re-establi.hed, and will proceed to Alexandria lo salute the Khedive.
London, January 18,
It is rumoured that Sir John Gorst, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, will be appointed adviser to the new Khedive.
