Ayer'a Hair Vigor improves the beauty of the hair and promotes its growth. It prevents dandruff, cleanses the scalp, and retores natural colour to gray hair. Have yoa received Ayer's Almanac for the new year?—(Ad vt.) The January issue of the " Kaw Zealand Farmer" always assumes to a certain extent the'eharacter of a holiday number, and this year as usual there are special literary features in keeping with the festive season. Still business is nob by any means overlooked, as may bo gathered by the titles of tho following articles in the number juab published and now before us. •'The Smut of Oats," " Treatment of Footrot in Sheep," "Breeding for Wool in the North," a short bub thoroughly practical article dealing with the causos for b!ie lower selling value of Auckland wool as compared wibh Southern prices. Other articles treat of our butter export trade, a new kind of disc churn lately exhibited in England, the spraying of fruib trees for fungoid blights, the management of lemon and orange plantations, by Mr Dobbie, of Whangarei, two excellent contributions on poultry management, etc. The illustrations include a special engraving by a French artist, entitled ."A Mouthful of Hay," depicting-a young woman in a field with an armful of hay, feeding a group of cattle. There are two splendid engravings of pure bred Hampshire. Down sheep, a portrait of the celebrated St. Bernard dog Pliulimraon, and another of a pure bred trumpeter pigeon. There is also a collection of Xinas nbones, verses and games, and a Xmas letter from "Uncle Ned" to his nephews and nieces in connection with the Children's Post Office department of the journal. We have only enumerated a small part of the contents of a thoroughly good number.
