AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB.

The firsfe day's gathering > connection with the Auckland Trotting Club Meeting held yesterday was a snocQSS from, first to. last, and no unpleasantness or hitch oc* curred to mar the proceedings. There was b large attendance oi local spectators and visitors from other centres, among, the, number being the Hon. G. McLean and Hon. J. D." Ormond. Blomfield and his efficient\tai£ The meeting was splendidly managed, due greatly to the exertions of Mr C. F. Mark, the hard-working Secretary, and Mr Erauk: La wry, M.H.R., the President and Judge. Mr E. I). Halstead's starting was most satisfactory. The big Trotting Oup of 200sovs turned out a very hollow contest, the local O.wned horse Brandy winning very easily.
