AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB. The Summer Meeting of fcha Auckland Trotting Club is taking place this afternoon ab Potter's Paddock. Mr Frank Lawry, M.H.R., is judge, and Mr E. D. Halstead starter. There is a largo atfceniance. The Newton Brass Band is on the ground. Maiden Trot of SOsova. Two mile 3. Mr T. Tanner's Sandfly (ridden by the owner) 1 Mr J. R. Alieon'3 jS:apier (Hope) ... 2 Mr B. Pater ! 3 Jock (Edwards) 3 Napier looked like winning till 40yds from the post, when Sandfly came with a rush and won cleverly by a length. Fifteen horses started. Dividend, £5 193 (10b tickets). Flying Stakes, of 30sovs. Six furlongs, Silkworm ... 1 Protest II .... ... 2 Red Hose - 3 Won by a lenofc'n. Dividend, £1 14s. The Hon. Geo. McLean, of 'Dunedin, is among those present.
