LEADER OF THE UNIONISTS,
Londox, December 29. The "Marqnis of Hartington, who has succeeded to the title of Duke of Devonshire, will remain leader of the Liberal Unionists, and Mr Chamberlain Will be leader of the party in the House o! Commons.
The " Standard " asserts that Lord Randolph Churchill aspires to the position of diplomatic representative, and may possibly be appointed to St. Petersburg to succeed Sir R. Morier, who has been transferred to Rome. It, however, considers that it would be rather a risky experiment.
