(By the Tkotting Tout.)

The Auckland Trotting Club big Summer Meeting commences to-morrow ab Potter's Paddock. The firsb race starts ab half-past one, and trams will run to tho ground every few minutes. The bijj event is tho Trotting Cup of 200sovs,.and this event has excited interest all over the colony. A few condensed notes about the horses (jpgagcci will be interesting.

Myrtle (scratch) has proved herself a good, honest little mare. Clyde (scratch) hails from Nelson, and has proved himself a really first-class horse, winning a number of events from scratch, and in one case lasts season cutting oub 2h miles in t/he exceptionally fast time of 7min 6aec.

NeJUs (15sec) has repeatedly proved hersolf a good one iji Auckland.

Ch&r]i<j (15aec) is the same horse that won tho lOOsovs race at this Club's Spring Meeting, >yhen he had 30 seconds, and distanced his field.

Karns (25sqq) js a Nglson horse that has? done some good hqqs in his district. Hμrricαr)*9 (2p.8a0) cgmes from Gisborne, but origioajly from. Christchurcli. This horse has won good races.

Mjdnighfc (4teeQ) is dark in name and in his doings, bub report gays he will van this race.

Mount (40sec) is a Tauranga horso that has been running for som6 time ut these meotings, find has only done one good Auckland performance.

Ruadan (40sec) is'an unknown quantity. He, jg supposed to hail from Havvke's Bay, bufc has never performed in public before. Sherry (40soc) is a Wanganui iiorse, and is another untried one.

Royer (40sec) has won one race ii) Anck laud, whor, he beat Model in 6min 17sec.

Brandy (45sec) is the horse fchafc w'aa so well backed at the Otuhuhu Trotting Club Autumn Meeting. Humour says he is one of the best horses wo hays seen hero. Bess (4§sec) has trottpd frequently sinco she won at her maiden effort, but has done nothing of much account.

Pandy(oOiec) cornea from Whangaroi, ami has a gpod country reputation, .having won several srflali trpts in that district.

Scotchman (50see) has not much to re commend him.

Larry (5Qs«iP) lias not been long enoun-h in work,

Tyrone (6O.seg) is spoken of by many as leniently handicapped. Reports fvorii tho track credit hjrn with very fast work. Shamrock (OQsec) comes from pargaville.

Pioko (60 sec) is an Opotjki horse.

Ingar (60sec) is a local horse by Inpotnar. Cprina (60gee) is considered the blot of the handicap. Ifc is stated that vrheu suq rao at Hawke's Bay with 65sec she wa; looljed upon as a 'moral, but had the misfortm>e to loije'a aUoo in tho race and finished unplaced.. i > uh'oi (Gosec) ig only a pony, and is by Fitz-Jarnes from Nellie.

To sum up, 1 will recommend my readers to favour fche -chapces of Corina, .Hurricane, Brandy, or Clyde in that order, with Ruadarii to'up.sefcthe pot. Corina may win tha flakier) Trpt, with 2Tapier and Tha Broker next best. The Plyiny Stakes should go to Silkworm, and the Pony Cup to Red Rose or Vampire. Lady Onslo-.v may win the Hurdles, and Tyrone or Maud S. the Handicap "Trob. The Pony Trot looks a trial of strength between Maud S. ancTMyrtle.
