COMMERCIAL TREATIES.

RATIFIED BY AUSTRIA.

ENGLAND WELCOME.

Vienna, December 11. The Austrian Government has ratified the commercial treaty with the othei two countries of the Triple Alliance.

Berlin, December 11

The Reichstag is debating the treaties. Speaking on the subject Caprivi said that Austria would probably imitate the example of the United States and close the frontiers against the trade of Germany.

It is reported in the city that the Vienna Commercial League would be willing to include England in the treaty on condition that the latter isolated France.

General Caprivi, in his speech on the treaties in the Reichstag, said the Triple Alliance would be unable to live under the condition of economic warfare, and he asserted that the loss of revenue to Germany by the new treaty would be under a million. The wars*] of the future would be fought on tariffs.

A ratification of the treaties by large majorities is certain.
