Gisborne, this day.'!; J. Byant, farmer, of Makauri, was aroused! yesterday morning by stones falling oij the roof of his house. He went out and found on the verandah a newly-born babe, with a £1 note and a request that as % Christian he would feed and koep the litbl# stranger. The police are ondeavouring to find the parents of tho infant.
