MEETING AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

New Plymouth, this day.
A large meeting convened by the Mayor was held last evening respecting the connection of Auckland and Taranaki by roads, when a resolution was passed to urge on the Government the necessity of immediately constructing a good coach road from S tratf ord via the East Road by a lino already surveyed to the central railway route, and that a branch road be constructed by the Mimi North Road until they intersect the central. A Committee was appointed to carry out the resolution.
