ORES FOR EXHIBITION.
The collection of mineral exhibibs which Mr Geo. Wilson, Mining Inspector, has been making for the past three months for exhibition purposes on behalf of the Government, wason view on Sept. 30 at tho Govern ment Buildings, and attracted considerable attention. The specimens are from all parts of the peninsula, and are fairly representative of the mineral wealth of these, goldfields. The specimen stone from various mines is of excellent quality, that from the Waiotahi G.M.Co.'s mine being exceptionally rich, three small 6tones being valued ab £50 183 6d. The following are the sums paid for specimen stones:—
Saxon mine, value £56 Is. Hazelbank mine, value £22. Caledonian mine, value £4 17s 6d. Waiotahi mine, value £50 18s 6dl Occidonbal mine, value £34 14s 4d. Whau mine, value £15 19a. Kuranui mine, value £9 12s 6d. Moanataiari mine, value £51 2s 6d. Samples of general ore have also been obtained from tho Saxon, Caledonian, Moanatairi, New Alburnia, Sylvia (excel - lenb collection of exhibits, including concenbrabes), Occidental, Waihi, Silverton, Woodsbock, Ivanhoe, Crown, Waiorongomai, Champion, Try Fluke, Carbine and Waibekauri. Samples have also yeb_ to come to hand from the Waiotahi, Cambria, Dives, Owera, Red Mercury, Scotby's, (late Success), Russell's at Waitekauri, Gem, Mount Zeehan, and Monowai. Specimens will be sent away bo Welling-ton in a day or bwo, bub bhe obher exhibibs will nob be forwarded to the Minister of Mines until the remainder of the samples of ore promised have been received.
