Messrs A. Buckland and Sons report bhat ab the Haymarkeb during tho past week oaten sheaves hava been in better inquiry, and broughb up to 2s 3d. Meadow
hay from Is to Is 3d the cwt. ; chaff, £2 10s to £3 10s ; maize, 2s to 2s 3d ; oats, 23 to 2s 4d ; cocksfoot, 5s 9d the bushel ; potatoes at nominal values, 16s per ton. On Friday horsesfcoek were fairly represented and the improved valuos lately quoted sustained. Young, strong, riding, lighb harness horses brought up to £19 ; aged, and those of medium strength, from £G to £9 each ; weeds, from 6s to 30s ; a cart, £5 7s 6d ; buggy, £3. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday late valuos were sustained : — Sound ox hides ranged from 3jd to sgd; cow hides, 2.} dto 2gd ; calfskins up to 5Jd per lb; tallow, 15s Gd to 18s 6d per cwb; bones, £5 2« 6d per bon. Sheepskins also sold "well. Fresh skins sold from 4s to 6s Sd ; lambskins, 3d to Is each. Wool, in balos, 6\d to 7Jd per lb. Ab bhe regular monbhly cabtle sale held ab Waiuku, thero was a larger muster of stock than usual. Prices obtained were similar to those ruling at Remuera.
Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report.— Horse feed, grain, seeds, etc. : A steady demand has existed ab the previous week's values, with the exception of maize, which had an upward tendency in value. VVe quote: Oabs, Is 9d to 2s 3d per bushel; maize, 2s Id to lis 4d ; bran, £410s to £4 15s per ton ; oaten chaff, £2 10s to £2 I_3 6d ; ryegrass, 5s 6d to 6s 6d per bushel; cocksfoot, 7a to 8s 6d. Horses : The demand has been steady, and moro of a good stamp would havo found roady sale at quite previous valuoa. Rather a limited number were brought under the hammer ab tho Durham Yards on Friday : competition was good, and lobs were cleared. We quote: Medium draught, £8 2a Gd to £17 10s ; light harness, £5 10s to £11 15s ; hacks, £i 10s to £10. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones, etc. : Increased quanbitios were pitched ab tho Durham Yards on Tuesday, and tho demand was brisk throughout. Wo quote : Extra stoub ox hides, up to 5Jd pgr lb ; stout, 4d to 4£d; medium, 3d to 3.? d ; light and cow, lgd to 2Jd ; calfskins, to ; kip, 2d to3Ad ; stags and faulty, jjd to 2kl per lb ; sheepskins, local 4s 8d to 6s ikl each ; country, Is J)d to 6s ; lambskins, lOd to Is Id ; roujjh fat, Id to ; wool, bfjd to 7d per lb.
