THE S.S. PAEROA.
The new river-steamer Paoroa, built by Mr C.' liailey to the order of the HauraUi S.S. Coinpauy (Messrs Brown, Geddes and Sytns), promises to be a inosb useful boat in her future sphere of operations in the jiuckland-Thamee rivor trade. She is now lying: at Queen-street Wharf completing her fitting up, and is to make her official trial trip on Saturday week next, the 17tli mist. She made the trip up from tho Thames yesterday in the good time of Shr smin— faster time than the e.s. Argylo's usual performance. The engines are splendid ones, supplied by Mr George Price, of the Thames, being on the surlace condensing principle, with 10-inch and 19- inch cylinders, 10-inch stroke. Her cabin fittings are being finished in the best of style. Shortly after her trial trip sho will start on » special excursion to Paaroa and back.
