Reductions in tho staff had been made. Mica Hoiman had left. It was with great regret that they had been obliged to dispense with her services, for she had always proved painstaking and efficient, but the earing of the salary had been imperative. The second teacher who took her place had proved herself in every way capable and efficient. The services of Dr. bond had been lost, bufc Dr. Lawry had kmaly taken his place. Colonal Haultain, in seconding the resolution, made some cogent remarka as to whab ho called the sweating of the Charitable Aid Board. Thab Board only allow 3s a week for boarded-oufc children, and out of that tho hired parents were supposed bo feed, clothe and tend the children.

Sir Maurice O'Rorke moved the second resolution : " That all efforts arising to shield children from evil associates, and train thorn for God, should be rocognised by a sympathising community, and adequate support afforded for carrying on all such institutions as work with this object in viow."

Ho reviewed tho good work done by the institution, and spoke warmly in its praise. Dr. Kidd seconded the motion.

The following; ladioa were elected the office-bearers and Committee for tho ensuing year : —President, Mrs Tonks ; vicepresidenfc, Mrs Pickmere; treasurer and secretary, Mrs Philson ; Committee : Lady Fox, Mesdamos Hale 3, Kenderdino, Dilworth, Briggs, Lennox, Aahton, Clark, Schnackenberw, Miss Bartley. Votes of thanks were tendered and the meeting terminated.
