IN MEMORIAM.

CLARKE.—In fond and loving-ramombrancoof my dear father, James Clarke, wno died at Auckland. N.Z., on June 19. 1890. "Sweet Jesus, have mercy on his soul!" The face we loved it now lip low, Tho I'ond, true heart is still ; The hand that often clasped in ours Lies now in Death's cold chill. Inserted by his affectionato son, J. No burnimr tears hei- eyelids clo3e ; Xo aching mind ; no fover'd brow— fc'he sweety rests in Jesus now ! She has passed through the furnace : come forth pure as gold. The last warm tear is wiped away. And now she dwells in endless day : Thankful for all her tviala past. That made her meet for heaven at last. Oh, how we miss that loved one here.
