A concert was given in the Otahuhn Public Hall last night, under tho auspices of the Committee of the Free Reading Room. About 400 persons were present, and an excellent programme was gono through, to which the iollowing ladies and gentlemen contributed Hernw: Alissea Yonge, Harding, McKenzie, Dam, Ryan, Luke, Abtolum, and Messrs A. Harrison, Macdonald, Todd, H. Harrison, E. Whitmore, YV. J. Wallace, P. Lamb, Yonge, Hu'se, and It. Absolum. A dance took place at the close of the concert. Capt. Edwin wires: "Indications weather continue cold." The Mount Eden Baptist Band of Hope met last evening, when a very interesting programme was gone through. Misses Rosa Jones, Brownhill, Cox and Brockbank contributing very interesting recitations, and Mrs Butler and MiA Patch songs. A reading was also given by Mr Champion, a duet for organ and violin by Miss Heath aud Mr Jenkins. The Rev. G. D. Cox was Chairman.
