MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS

Moanataiaei.—The manager reports that there are two distinct lodes in the stope on the Reuben Parr reef above the intermediate. The lode if about one foot thick and a little gold was seen in the tace iaat Saturday. No. 1 hanging wall reef, at No. 4 level, has shown marked improvement, and three or four pounds of picked stone have been obtained. Cambria No. 4 level should soon be reached.

Norfolk.—The manager reports that the reef at present averages live feet and prospects favourably. The manager hopes shortly to be in a position to keep the battery going continuously. Sylvia.—The manager reports that the reef is fully 8 feet iti width, and general assay testa taken from the face give very favourable results.

PmiipUHi Prospectors.—The manager reports that the reef is 7 feeb thick and the stone coming to hand shows some very good silver. As the reef where broken shows a good body of stone going down, the nexb block below should be ot greater value. The dam is now completed. Kafai.—The Chairman of the Directors reports that he has instructed Mr Wilson to mark out a battery site, call tenders for hopper, mark out) line of road from the hopper to the main road. The latter is estimated to cosb £20. The road should be ready for caiting along to the mill in six weeks, weather being favourable, when there should be no difficulty in supplying two or three hundred tons of payable dirt.

Flying Cloud.—The manager reports that the reef in the vise over the drive is from 2 to 3 feet in thickness and well - defined, showing a little gold occasionally. In the last breaking down about two pounds of stone which showed very good gold wa s obtained. Although the return of 13dwc to the ton was not payable, still it was encouraging, es the Sons of Freedom reef is very patchy, and the country is everything that could "be desired for god. Therefore a real good patch may be gob at any time, as there have been previously many thousands of ounces of gold gob in a very small space from this reef, and the drive is just now upon the same channal of country which made the mine iamous in former days. Saxon. —The manager reports that he expects to cut the reef when the crosscut has been extended another 25 foeb, and by that time the winze will be down the requisite depth. The stopes at No. 6 level are all turning out a good supply of general quartz. At No. 5 level the winze is down 56 feet, and on the 12th 121b of picked stone were obtained, and a further haul of 101b was made yesterday. A fair supply of quartz of better grade is coming to hand from the stopes over No. 5 level. Gold is more freely seen in the stone.
