INVERCARGILL.
The Wairio Licensing Committee has granted a new license in tho face of the option poll declaring against an increase. The reason given for disregarding the vote is thab the polling places were limited to one for tho whole district, which comprises three ridings, and that consequently the majority cf the ratepayers were prevented from voting. The Committee contend that the poll was not a true expression of tbe opinion of the residents. Complications are likely to arise.
