A Dying Woman's Confession.
There has been an extraordinary develops ment at Rochester (U.S.), in bhe V&f murder case. Arbhur Day was hanged on December 17bh for throwing his wife over Niagara Falls. The chief witness at the, brial was Day's sister, Mrs Quigley, who swore bhab Day bhrew his wife over the • brink of bhe Falls while she (Mrs Quigley), was looking in another direction. She sawMr and Mrs Day standing together; she looked away, and then when she turned to-* wards them again her sister-in-law wa« missing. Upon this evidence Day waa hanged. He left a letter saying that hia sister had sworn his life away in order bo save his own. Mrs Quigley was baken very ill recently, and upon being informed that she had not long to live, said that she desired to make a confession. She then said ib was she who had bhrown Mrs Day over the Falls, but her brother was present at the time, and had assisted in the crime. Soon after uttering these words the murderess died.
