LICENSING MEETINGS.
WAITAKEREI.
NEW LICENSE GRANTED.
Afc the annual meeting of fche Waitakerei Licensing Committee held afc Henderson yesterday there were present of the Committee : The Chairman (Mr T. T. Masefield), and Messrs Cantwell, Laurie, and Smyth, with the Clerk, Mr Seaman, and fche Inspector, Mounted Constable Kelly. There were also in attendance Messrs Moss Davis, Michael Kavanagh, the applicant for a new license for the Falls Hotel, late the Oratia, with his solicitor Mr Hugh Campbell, and Mr Ernest Roden Hill, applicant for a license for a house which he proposed to erect in closer proximity to the railway station, wifch Mr McCormick, who appeared on his behalf. A reporb was received from the inspector favourable as to the condition and accommodation of the house for which the first application was made, and referring favourably to the plans for the new building which were submitted by Mr Hill. After hearing both applications the Committee retired for a few minutes to consider the same, and on resuming announced their decision to grant a license for the Falls Hotel, bufc thab even if they thought a second house were needed, v. hich they did nofc, they could nofc at this meeting entertain the application from Mr Hill, as there wa9 no building in existence. Mr Hill thanked tho Chairman and Committee for the courtesy shown him, bub as he also considered there was no need of a second hotel in the township of Henderson he should nofc proceed wifch the erection of his building, with a view to a future application.
