SUICIDE OF MADAME BENDEROFF.
An Extraordinary Letter.
A telegram from St. Petersburg says :— Madame Adriana Ivanovna Benderoff, wife of the celebrated Captain Benderoff, committed suicide on Monday. Madame Benderoff, finding herself the victim of an incurable disease, was anxious that her husband, whom she adored, should nob be burdened with an invalid wife. Whilst her husband was on duty, she attired herself completely in the costume worn by heron her wedding day, and shot herself through the heart. She left behind her the following letter addressed to her husband :—
* You delivered Bulgaria from a usurper. I now deliver you from a burden which might prevent you from saving it once again. You have known me as without stain and innocent as an angel, and I leave you so. Pardon me the grief I occasion you."
