Messrs Esam and Arthur's Weekly Report.— Business in all departments hae been very good during the week. The sale of Pastor Birch's furniture was largely attondod, and high prices ruled—the piuno realised £52; extension phajton, £45; baggy, £32. In the produce department business is restricted to supplying local requirements, the demand for export being supplied. Potatoes are slow of sale, at £3 to £3 10s ; quality to hand during the week shows no improvement;. Maize is in demand at 3s, and may bo considered scarce. Towl wheat is also wanted—buyers will purchase at about 3s 3d. Oats continue difficult of sale, the quality only being third grade. Cheese has moved off freely, at 2fd to 3Jd. Onions : Tho demand is easier, owing to export orders being filled. We quote about £5 10s aa present value for best. Butter is advancing, the best dairy brought 9Jd ; other brands, from 7d to Bd. Mr Alex. Aitken's Market Refoet for thci week ending April 25 :—Produce of all kinds has found a good outlet during the week, and good 'quantities have been pub through both privately and by auction. In farm produce there is no change in values, and supplies all round continue large. In dairy produce values are good for most lines, with demand beyond supplies. Butter, fresh, has realised r.p to 10d per lb. In fruit I am pleased to quote an unsatisfied demand for all sound kinds at improved values.
