THE R.M.S. MARIPOSA.
After another excellent trip downfrom San Francisco the Union S.S. Company's smart mail steamer Mariposa, Capt. fl M. Hay ward, arrived in port at 7.30 a in* today from California via Honolulu 'and Tutuila, with mails, passengers and t!argo and berthed ab the Queen-street Wharf!
As usual, the mail packet is in the best of order, and her commander reports a fine and pleasant voyaee down. Of the trip down the Pacific, Mr Smith, purser, whom wo have to thank for late 'Frisco files, etc., reports :—" VVe left the wharf at San Francisco on April 3rd, at 4.20 p.m. (discharged pilot at 5.13 p.m.), immediately on arrival of tho English mail?, which were a day behind on the Atlantic. We arrived at Honolulu on April 10th, at 5.13 a.m. Time, 6 days 12 hours. We sailed from Honolulu on April 11th, at 12.31 a.m., having found the R.M.s. Monowai in port. \Y'o touched ab Tutuila on April 18th, at 6.27 a.m., landing mails and three passengers, making detention 36 minutes, and arriving as above. To-day the ilariposa discharged the New Zealand portion of her cargo, and took in some coal. She leaves for Sydney at 5 o'clock this evening',
