NEW YORK SHIPPING.
Under date March 28th, Messrs H. W. Peabody and Co., of New York, report per 'Frisco mail re freights: — " Tonnage :is in good supply, and vessels are obtainable for the colonial trade at very low prices. We quote the following low freight rates for vessels loading for colonial ports: Melbourne, lie. ; Sydney, lQc. ; Adelaide, 14c. ; Brisbane, 18c.; New Zealand ports, 18 to 20c. From the depressed condition of the market; for vessels of large tonnage we believe lower freight rates will be quotable in the immediate future, as these will decline with the lower cost of vessels." The latest new fixture at New York for Aiickland is the Amorican barque Emma L. Shaw, 567 tons, to sail about April 10th for Wellington and Auckland with kevo3one (4,000 cases for here) and general merchani disc.
