THE NICARAGUA CANAL.
It is believed on Wall-street that a now syndicate of American and European capitalists ia being formed for the purpose of supplying funds to aid in the completion of the Nicaragua canal. Experts difl'er in their opinions as to the amount of money which will be required to finish the big ditch.
It is said that much of the machinery and appliances, which were purchased at great expense lor tho work, will have to be replaced by others of more modern and improved pattprns. This would involve, a very heavy outlay of money on tho part of the company. There is considerable anxiety in certain quarters to know if all of tho cash which will be required will bo forthcoming or not. The promoters of the canal have gone so far that they cannot well afford to halt or give up the work.
