CHILDREN'S PARTY ON THE ORLANDO.
A large childrena's party was given on the afternoon of April 9 on board theflasship Orlando. A very large number of children were invited and attended, tbere of course being a fair sprinkling of grown up ladies in the shape of parents and guardians. The ship was gaily docorated for the occasion, the guns were exposed for exhibibition,the machineguns,HotchkisspndNordenieldfe, peeping wickedly below the heavier quick tirers which were all polished to a great state of brilliance. Tho party was not a very formal auaii'. Each officer invited his own friends, putting down the names of the elders and the number of children. Tho usual prefixes Mis 3or Mrs were omitted in the book very kindly lent our reprasentative.
As has been sf-ated, the prefixes arc missing in many cases in the subjoined list of quests. The Ladies Gwendoline and Dorothy Onslow were amongst the invited guesfca : —Mrs Arthur and fchveo children, Mre Bourne and. two children, Mrs 801 l and 4 children, Mrs Butt and two children.
