PRIDE OF KARAKA GOLD MINING COMPANY.
An extraordinary meeting; of the shareholders of the Pride of Karaka Gold Mining Company was hold yesterday afternoon at Mr H. Gillillan'e office, Insurance Buiklinge. Mr Jas. Macky, sen., occupied the chair, and 12 other shareholders were present. The Chairman explained that the meeting had been called to consider the advisability of increasing the capital of the Company by the issue of 15,000 shares, which would then make it a company of 50,000 shares. It would be the means of placing the contributing shareholders in a better position to equalise them with the non-contributing shareholders, both holding alike 25,000 shares. Tho distribution of new shares would place contributing shareholder!! in as good a position as when they had paid the 2s per share on tho original shares, and the addition would reduce their cost to about lid per share. Some discussion took place on the proposal, and eventually it was moved by Mr Pigsrott, seconded by Mr Murray, and carried : " That the capital of the Company be increased by tho addition of 15,000 shares (nominal value bs each), two shillings peraharo paid up : euoh shares t,o be allotted pro ratn to the holders of tho 12,000 contributing shares already issued, when the balance of 9d per share uncalled thereon ii paid." A meeting will bo called to confirm tho resolution.
