MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS

Saxon.—The manager reports that the reef ab No. 6 level west continues to average four feet and occasionally a little gold is seen. Another 50 feeb musb be driven before No. 1 level is reached. The reef easb averages 4 feet and has considerably improved. Upwards 151b of picked atone have been saved from here. Gold is aeen frequently in Nos. 2 and 3 sfcopes west from the winze and 101b of picked sbone have been obtained. No. 2 reef at No. 6 level is split up into 4 d.iilerent ribs of quartz, varying from 6 to 12 inche?, with bars of sandstone between. All the quartz looks promising, and occasionally a few pounds of picked stone are saved. A drive has been starbed on bins reef, wesb of bhe shafb. Ib will be remembered that gold was carried down 36 feet in the winze sunk for drainage purpose. A new winze has been started at No. 5 level bo meet bhe drive. A few pounds of picked sbone were obtained from the No. 1 footwall leader at No. 3 level. This averages 12 inches.

Orlando. — The manager reports that 101b of picked stone .have been obtained from No. 3 stope. The reef is about 2 feet wide. The other stppes are producing fair crushing dirb. Colours of gold are seen every breaking down. The picked sbone mentioned in bhe report was on view boday ab Mr D. G. MacDonnell's office. Ib attracted an amount at attention, showing broad seams of gold running right through the quartz. OwEKA. —The manager reports that the mine shows a steady improvement as the main low level progresses norbhwards.

Flying Cloud —The manager reporbs bhab the country has changed to firmer sandstone and a few colours of gold have been seen in the reef.

Alburnia. -The manager reports thab bhe sbopes in Dixon's reef continue to yield a good supply of crushing dirt. The winze on the Success reef is passing through good firm sandstone. The reef ab presenb is six inches Jihick, and shows gold occasionally.

Silverton (Waihi). —The manager reports bhab the bribubers' winze is now down 30 feeb, and sbone showing gold freely is being obtained every day.
