Oxide and Sanctuary are also very favourably spoken of. Auckland Tattersall'a Club will make a decent profit out of Saturday's meeting. The "sensation" of the gathering was Warrior's win in bhe Wolber Handicap. The horse's public form has previously boen of poor description, bub despite this he only paid a £5 9s dividend. A two-year-old gelding named Bulrush owned by Mr N. Dickey, of Paeroa, made his first appearance on our racecourses in the Flying Stakes. Writing in a Queensland exchange. " Rattler"" says :—" An offer of £1,000 was recently made and refused for our champion two-year-old Dillon. A thousand seems a big sum to pay for an unsexed youngsber, bub this son of Archie is such a long way ahead of anything of his class here that hi 3 engagements alone represent fully thab amount. If he trains on all right there will be no show for any of his opponents in this year's Derby and the Leger of nexb year, unless indeed some of bhe as yeb untried ones burn out far above the average."

A London sporting paper states that the Association which has been formed for improving the breed of the once famous New Foresb ponies has jusfc been presented with a stallion by Her Majesty. The totalisabor is (says the London correspondent of the "Australasian") certain to be shortly the only means of backing horses in France. At the Port Adelaide races, on March 17th, Tartar, by Musket, from Steppe, 7sb 12lb, was beaten by a length in the Cup race, run over a mile and a quarter, by Comedy, an aged gelding, whose impost was 6sb 101b.

In Sydney last week, Mr Clibborn held a sale of racehorses. Greygown was offered, bub failed to find any advance on 1,350 guineas.
