A deputation from the Alpha MartiniHenry Rifle Club waited on the Minister of Defence, and asked for concessions in the price of Martini-Henri ammunition and rifles, and also in railway fares to members in uniform. Mr Seddon said that to assist the rifle clubs to any large extent would tend to injure the volunteer system and ho was against that being done. Ammunition would be supplied at 8s 4d per hundred rounds, and rifles could be obtained upon requisition at cost price. The question of concessions en railways would be laid before the Railway Commissioners.-.
