Compulsory Education.—Orders wero made on the application of Mr John Small in tho following cases : — William Gregory, James Grant, and Patrick Collins, with costs ; Racbael Fletcher, Martha Barrett, and Ellen Hewlett, without costs.

On Tuesday jiext tho British warship Rapid goes into the Calliope Graviug Dock for an extensive overhaul, and repairs of some magnitude. She is to bo completely stripped, caulked and re-coppered, the work taking about a fortnight. Mr Chas. Bailoy, of Customs-street, has secured the contract.
