Arthur and Buddle's Weekly Report.— Business for the week has been fairly brisk in all departments. Produce has come forward in large quantity and has mot with a better demand. Potatoes remain at, about last week's rates, with a steady sale. Onions of best quality are in demand at -6 10s to £7 for shipment; wo have orders on hand for several tons. Cheese of the small Joaf size is wanted for tho Islands, local demand continues slow. Bacon and hams of good cure are also in demand for Island orders; we have cleared out considerable quantities of second-class during the week at fair values. Fresh butter has advanced in price, but. the bulk of that entered during the week has been very soft and in bad condition. Fresh eggs are short of demand at an advance on last week's prices. Poultry has been penned in larger numbers, average prices a shade lower than last week. Very. large consignments of fruit; have comeforward, necessitating four sales since last report; prices throughout have kept up well. During the week we have held seven auction sales. Monday—Household furniture at the residence. Richmond Road, and on Wednesday at the mart. A good attendance at both, and good prices realised. Tuesday, Wedneday. Thursday, and Friday, fruit and produce sales at the mart, all largely attended, aud brisk competition at each. A sale of drapery on Thursday was fairly attended and a good business resulted.
