OUR GOLDFIELDS.
Carbine (Kuaotunu). — Some very rich gold-bearing stone from thia mine was on view yesterday ab the office of Mr D. G. MacDonnell. F lying Cloud.—The manager reports that strong colours of gold were seen when breaking down the reof. The manager states he would not be surprised at any time in discovering good gold when breaking down. Calliope.—The manager reports that the reef is still split up into a series of{ veins but it gives an average of 18in of crashing dirt. Strong blotches of gold are seen through the quartz every breaking ddwn. Orlando.—The manager reports tljat the reof has become smaller, being about 15in wide. Gold blotches are eeen when breaking down. New Alburxia.—The manager reports that a litfcle gold is seen in the Success reef when breaking down. Golden Age.—The manager reports that a portion of No. 4 reef shows blotches of gold ant? ruby silver.
