TAKAPUNA SPRING MEETING.
A JOCKEY INJURED.
The Spring Meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club is being brought off on the North Shore racecourse this afeernoon. The ferry steamers that left after noon each conveyed largo numbers of racegoers across to the favourite marina suburb, and when the first evenb started there was every prospect of a large attendance. Impey r e Band is present in the grand stand enclosure discoursing a choice musical programme, and the totaliaators are under the efficient management of Mr Blomfield. Maiden Hurdle Rack of 30sovs. One mile and a-half. Hailstone, (McMinamin) .„, .V, m 1 Cracksman (Collins) .... .„ .„ 2 Moderator (Hughes) ... .„ .„ 3 Also Btarted: Irish Agitator, Paddy, Revoke. Won easily by two lengths. Irish Agitator touched one of the hurdles, and kis rider, Hawkins, was heavily thrown. The injured man was carried to the grandstand and attended to by Dr. Walker. It wee found he was stunned and badly cut about the face.
