NORTHERN S.S. COMPANY'S MOVEMENTS.
Thursday.—Gairloch leaves for Waitara at 1 p.m. ; Wellington arrives from Whangarei ; lona arrives from Mercury Bay and Kuaotunu early, and leaves again for same ports at 9 p.m. * Friday.—Clansman arrives from Russell at 6 a.m., and leaves for Tauranga at 7 p.m. ; Wellington leaves for Whangarei, Marsden Point, and Parua Bay at 8 p.m. Thames Service : Rotomahana or Argyle leave for Thames daily.
The s.s. Tarawera arrived ab Sydney yes terday from Auckland.
The s.s. Maori left Whangarei last evening coai-laden for Fiji.
The Union Company's steamer Tarawera makes her annual excursion to the West Coast Sounds from Dunedin in January noxt.
The ship Oamaru, now on her way out to Auckland from London, is at presenb in charge of Captain Thomas, late of the Shaw-Savill barque Otago, who bas,BttC* ceoded : *••*--■ ' 4 "'■•■■-'■" '■''
Advices from Barotonga under dato October 11 stated-:thab the new eehoone*-* Akarana, 67 tons, now' being completed afc Ayarua, Rarotonga, by Mr T. Short, formerly of Auckland, has just been sold to a Tahiti firm for 9,000 dollars, and loaves the island for Tahiti shortly. Sho is intended for the island trade. She will nob come up to Auckland now, as was expected.
