CUSTOMS REVENUE.
THE OCTOBER RETURNS.

Wellinotox, this day. The Customs revenue collected in the colony last month was £123,518, as against £128,787 for September, and £117,667 for October, 1889. Lasb month Auckland contributed £28,236; Wellington, £24,088 ; Lyttelton and Christchurch, £21,481 ; Dunedin, £28,063. The total for seven months of the financial year is £882,467, boing £1,934 over the Treasurer's estimate for that period. The beer duty for the colony last month was £4,994 ; for September, £4,654 ; and for October, 1889, £5.090. Auckland paid £1,149; Wellington, £544; Christchurch, £1,044; Dunedin, £1,065. For seven months the total was £30,571, showing n deficit of £928 as compared with the estimate.
