MARSDEN.
Mr A. Elliott addressed the electors in the school-bouse, Otonga Bast, on Saturday, October 18. There was a large attendance. JMr Elliott's chief plank appears to be the settlement of our Crown lands. At the close of the meeting Mr Elliott was severely cross-questioned for nearly an hour, after which a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence was carried, everybody being apparently well satisfied. Mr Elliott also addressed the electors of Obonga on Saturday last. Mr Kerr was in the chair. There was a large meeting, some settlers coming long distances. The address, which lasted for about an hour and a half, was listened to most attentively. At the close a vote of thanks and confidence was proposed and carried, there being no counter motion. / ■ .. Mr Elliott spoke at Opuawhanga on Monday. There was a good attendance, several ladies being present. The address lasted a litble over an hour, and resembled closely those delivered by the same candidate in other places. • « Mr Elliott addressed the electors of Whananakiontheeveningof Tuesday. There was a large attendance, including several ladies. The meeting was most orderly and attentive-from beginning to end, and at the close passed a hearty vote of confidence in the candidate.
