GREYMOUTH.
Twelve policemen arrived overland from Christchurch on Saturday evening, bound for'Westport. All their luggage was put on board the Charles Edwards (which started early next morning), bub was afberwards brought ashore.
The men are still here.
The general impression here is bhat bhe Labour Conference will settle the difficulty to-day, consequently the detention of police intended for Westport,
