The Spring Meeting of the Australian Jockey Club commences at Randwick this afternoon. In the Spring Stakes Cuirassier will make his bow to Australian race-goers, but it will be a surprise if he can defeat Carbine of Melos, in his present condition. Eight made the final payment for the Derby yesterday afternoon, -viz., Bradley, by Goldsbrough—Queen's Head ; Whimberel, by St. Albans-Curlew: Victor Hugo, by Chester—Kathleen ; Titan, by Chester— Tempe; Gibraltar, by Grandmaster—Algeria ; Paris, by Grandmaster — Enone : Gablinw, by Nordenfeldt —Petroieuse ; and Our King. On Tuesday next, the race for the Greab Metropolitan Stakes takes place.
