AUCKLAND RACING CLUB.

i am sorry that members of the Auckland Racing Club take so little interest in tho business affairs of the Club. It musb surely be a compliment to the management of tho institution. At tho annual mooting on Monday jusb a quorum were present, and there was a total absence of that healthy discussion which I, for ono, like to see, J_r Percival'? statement of accounts was clear. The Club aro £673 17s better oil' than last year, and their present totaj indebtedness is £11,530 Is Bd. In 1888, it was £13,103 .10?, and in 1889 £12,253 19s Id. The fivo meeting- held during the season each showed a profit; bub ib wa. a close shave over the Winter Meeting coming out on the right side of tbe ledger. The profit was only 10s 2d ! This was due to disputes over the purchase of the booths afc auction, and the Selling Race. However, taken altogether, tho Club had a successful season, and Mr Percival and those who give their time and attention to the institution deserve the thanks of tho racegoing community. Yesterday afternoon tho . Committee appointed to draw up next season's programmes hold a long meeting. A programme for four meetings was clr&wn up 'which will bo submitted to Jbhe goncral committee on Friday afternoon next. It is proposed to increase the added money of the Auckland Cup to 600-bve, and the Racing Club Handicap and Easter Handicap have another lOOsovs each tackfcd on. Another proposal is to reduce tho nomination fee in the jumping races te'leov., an recently suggested by a correspondent in these columns. It is proposed by tho Programme Committee to give away altogether £600 more in added money than last year.
