New York, July 23. The_ disturbances in Chili are still continuing, and five thousand nitrate strikers Backed and burned several shops in Valparaiso.
As it ia feared further depredations will be committed, troops have been summoned, and the banks and taosb of tho business places and private houses have been closed. During the melee one shopkeeper and several rioters wero killed.
An ironclad fired on the rioters at Iquique, a seaDort town in the north of Chili. ■ ' ■*
