PIGEONS.
(To bhe Editor.)
Sir,—l have a garden, and my neighbour has a lob of pigeons which annoy me very much, viz., out of about 200 cabbages that I planted I have only about half of them left. They have picked the others down to the ground, also a bed pf young carrots bhat came up and were doing well, and lots of other things—in fact, they will soon have the lob. Will yon kindly insert through your valuable paper my best remedy ? By doing so I shall esteem ib a greab favour.—l a__, etc., E. McD. There is, however, another trouble to be faced, for any person discharging firearms within the precincts of the city is liable to be fined, whilst under the Police Offences Act, 1884, section 3, sub-section 28, any person discharging firearms within reasonable distance/ of a thoroughfare, or to the annoyance of other persons, is liable to punishment.—Ed.
