BANKRUPT'S STATEMENT.

William Cooper made a sworn statement in regard to his affairs before the Official Assignee in Bankruptcy this morning. He said that for eomo years he farmed at the Groat Barrier, and four years agogavea mortgage over tbe land and buildings. In May, 1889 he gave a bill-of-sale over his furniture, bullocks, and tools, receiving £35, £23 of which is still duo. Two bullocks died and the other two were sold to pay for the necessaries of life. Unsecured creditors claim £50. In February, 1889, he had his leg broken, and for five weeks was in the Hospital. He is now employed in the Auckland Gas Works at 42s a week on which he has to supporb a wife and four children, one of whom is earning 6s a week.
