PLOT IN THE ARGENTINE
ARREST OF OFFICERS
Buenos Ayres, July 21. A number of officers have been arrested on suspicion of being connected with a plot to overthrow the Government, and the arrests continue. The cavalry have been detached, and are set off bo wabch the infantry, who are believed to have been tampered with. The agitation arises from disaffection at tbo President's political and financial policy. The President promises reforms, and has agreed to a common convention.
The populace are greatly alarmed, and a semi-panic has taken place on the local Exchange. Premium in gold has advanced to 212.
