THE RODERICK DHU.

The Queensland labour schooner Roderick Dhu, a well-known Auckland-builb vessel, arrived at Maryborough (Q.) several days ago after a labour-recruiting cruise of four months in the New Hebrides, during which fearful weather was experienced, a succession of terrific gales being encountered. Great trouble was experienced in recruiting labourers in the New Hebrides on account of the recent, wreck of the labour schooner Eliza Mary, in which such a number of South Sea islanders were drowned, the natives refusing to go in Queensland vessels fearing they would suffer the same fate as those on the Eliza Mary. Ab the island of Ambrym, where the vessel wae wrecked and where previously the Roderick always gob a large number of recruits, ehe only this time could manage to obtain a couple of boys. She sighted the labour schooner Nautilus, going to the Solomon Group.
