GRAND POPULAR CONCERT FOR THE BLIND.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, — " Circles are praised, not that excel In largeness, but th' exactly framed ; So life we praise, that does excel Not in much time, but acting well."

This forthcoming event promises to be of a most inberesting and abtractive characber. The patronage is of such an order that should guarantee success. The bill of fare, moreover, embraces, all that tho most fastidious could reasonably require. The well-known histrionic and artistic genius of the various performers supplies ample evidence that a treat of no ordinary character is in store for the lovers of the divine arb. In view of the above favourable circumstances it seems scarcely necessary to urge the inhabitants of the city and its environs to roll up on the occasion in large numbers ; bub bhe circumstance which par excellence invests the approaching concert with deep interest, is the fact that the originators voluntarily offered their services herein, and have and are now sparing no pains in order to make the event in every way worthy the sublime object and grand purpose for which the steps have been inaugurated. I think it requires only to be stated that nearly the whole of the proceeds will be devoted to our fund for the "Jubilee Home for the Blind," in order to secure the liberal patronage which. should constitute the appropriate crown of such disinterested and praiseworthy effort. N.B. City Hall, Friday 23rd inst., com-. mencing at o'clock.—l am, etc., Jno. Abbott, Sb. George's Bay Road, Parnell, May 22nd, 1890.
