The brigantines L'Avvenire and Magellan Cloud have been fixed outwards by Messrs Stone Bros, and Mr Malcolm Nicco'l .espectively, and not by Messrs C. F. James and Co., as reported on Saturday. The L'Avvenire loads coal at Greymoubh for Port Pirie, and the other goes hence to Tairua and Rookhampton.

The Union S.S. Company's coastal steamer Southern Cross, 282 "tons, Captain F. Back, arrived in port this moraine: from Wellington, by way of Napier, Gisborne, Tologa Bay, Waipiro, Tuparoa, and Hicks Bay. She brought several passengers and a general cargo from the East Coast. She had a fine-weather passage up the coast, and left Hicks' Bay at 4 a.m. yesterday.
