JUBILEE PARDONS.
MINISTERS' ASSOCIATION MOVING.
A welt, • attended meeting of the Auckland Ministers' Association was held at the Tabernacle this forenoon, when there was taken into consideration the suggestion made by Cr. Swales that the ,NetV Zealand Government should be petitioned with the view of granting a pardon to ail first offenders at presont incarcerated, in honour of the jubilee of the colony. The idea was taken up very favourably by fcho Ministers' Association, and it was resolved that the Revs. Gibtos, Monro and J, S. Hill be appointed a sub - committee to draw up a petition for presentation to Parliament, and to solicit the co-operation of tho Jubilee Celebration Committee, with a view to recommending Parliament to emphasise tho Jubileo of New Zealand by extending mercy to those deserving of mercy amongst tho number of prisoners at present incarcerated in the gaols of the colony.
